Jess is a Brisbane criminal lawyer recognised as a Doyle's Guide Rising Star, valued by clients for her commonsense approach and outcomes focus.
Jess joined Gilshenan & Luton in 2023. Prior to joining the firm, she worked on the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme as Associate to former Chief Justice Holmes AC SC, and undertook a graduate program at an international commercial law firm.
Admitted in December 2021 while working as a Judge's Associate in the District Court of Queensland, Jess gained experience across the criminal and civil jurisdictions. She practises in a diverse range of areas including occupational discipline and regulatory matters, as well as all aspects of criminal law.
Jess is studying a Master of Laws specialising in public law at the Australian National University and sits on the Management Committee of the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland. She has been named a Rising Star in Doyle's Guide for criminal law and was a finalist in the Australian Law Awards Rising Star of the Year (Private Practice).
